The main reason was that such simulation tools are not always used for developing just any type of learning but focused on training content creation for a specific software application or system.

Various other authoring tools provide this facility to record simulations, but Adobe Captivate 9 is the most easy-to-use tool to create software simulations. It allows you to create simulations in “show me”, “try it” and “test me” modes, which are basically “Watch-Try-Do” software simulations.

In the first four blogs, we saw the features of Storyline 360 that facilitate the easy authoring of web-based courses. We saw that Storyline 360 can be used to develop good software simulations and online assessments. Excellent audio capabilities; you can record, import and edit audio clips in a hassle-free manner.

Whenever a comparison of eLearning authoring tools is published, Captivate still is considered to be the best tool for creation of software tutorials. Sorry for my cynical attitude, had many discussions with authors over that type of articles. Workflow 3: Software simulations.
