My latest take on those three vendors (plus one) are: Cornerstone On Demand – I have seen the new UI and I like what I saw. What is taking place in the space are the number of “freebies” that have arrived – not just for audio conferencing only, but also with web conferencing too. Lots of potential.

I have a real issue with vendors who charge extra – via a license with their “partner&# or otherwise for a web conferencing – and thus ability to offer webinars, in their solution. Red5Chat -video, audio chat functionality – Flash driven. It should be free – 100%. – Very nice solution.

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

I should note that you cannot use any 3rd party vendor authoring tool to upload courses into these systems. Just as in any product nowadays, add video, audio, media files. Cannot upload off the shelf content from a 3rd party vendor – say Rosetta Stone or Skillsoft or in some cases e-learning marketplaces.
