This is how you start to think about voice characters after listening to them through text to speech synthesizers (TTS). When Adobe included a text to speech application in Captivate 4, I began to think that TTS might be a viable option in certain situations. For example, text to speech software is certainly a viable approach for providing accessibility to visually impaired persons.

While there are a number of free text-to-speech applications out there, many have character limits or don’t allow for commercial use. I’m not sure how many people have personal use cases for text-to-speech, but if you do, there are plenty of options. One of the great new features is a text to speech engine that lets you generate speech from your closed caption text. Adobe Captivate 4 Text to Speech demo. I readily admit that I was unsure what to expect. From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . These were not characters that rarely moved, rather you could position them all over the screen, place them in the background and even record audio as part of the output. Sadly, for whatever reason, the feature was not in the demo. I believe that is going to change.
