In the cloud or on your own servers. Low cost systems are typically SaaS based (then again, the LMS industry as a whole is more SaaS based than hosted on your servers). For those who charge with storage – storage includes all courses, files – including your audio, video, images and documents. Bottom Line.

Subject matter experts are embracing the more sophisticated rapid e-learning tools which allow server side development with international collaboration and “instant&# course deployment. E-Learning development houses need to be able to demonstrate a clear value in their services. I completely agree with this.

While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. Especially when some vendors use Rackspace or other server farms.

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

Built in E-mail that blocks viruses, spam plus you can send out of the LMS. Desktop sharing (appears with a few vendors). One click SMB edition to Enterprise. Video and audio streaming. Multi-tenet, multi-portal and extended enterprise (basically it is all the same thing). Asking for streaming audio is not.
