Audio In Web Conferencing. A little known secret and often overlooked involves audio tied to recording. If the presenter is using VOIP, then audio is recorded during the presentation, because the audio is coming through the computer’s speakers. Audio bridges. Avoid this like the plague. Remember back in my authoring tool list, I mentioned one well known LMS vendor who dropped significantly in my rankings? Ideal for folks who want a multi-tenant system or also known as an extended enterprise. Very good for extended enterprise systems and even standalone systems i.e. without going multi-tenant. So, why the drop?

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

Complete app sharing between learners – video, audio (.mp3,mpeg),pdf, Livecasting or Livestreaming – it could be done by end users uploading videos or media files and then stream them in real time, to everyone or just their specific learner group. Social Bookmarking, but with a twist – for videos and audio.

For those who charge with storage – storage includes all courses, files – including your audio, video, images and documents. Any vendor, who includes a set storage fee, should be able to provide you a range of number of courses – with examples and video/audio files – if you plan to use them.

Again, you can create amazing, very interactive courses with audio, engagement at a solid cost. Caveat: If you want to build a 3D world with real streaming audio and video that does x or y depending on the learner, it will exceed the 100K world. People ask me, what if I want to do this and that, blah blah.I So, it makes sense.
