Vendors who fall under these two categories: Storage limits – most Lite systems. These vendors will tell you how many courses typically can be uploaded, how many audio/video files, etc. On the e-learning side, vendors who do not have their own servers, will use server farms such as Rackspace.

In the cloud or on your own servers. Low cost systems are typically SaaS based (then again, the LMS industry as a whole is more SaaS based than hosted on your servers). For those who charge with storage – storage includes all courses, files – including your audio, video, images and documents. AJ LMS - UI is average.

Majority of employees access a LMS or Learning Portal out of the workplace. Now, why doesn’t a vendor mention this information to a potential client, at least the first point – I can understand holding off on the second point, for selling purposes. Tie it into their servers. E-Learning 24/7.

It appears in the SAAS model with some small dog LMS vendors. on their server. If you want to upload video files, audio files, documents, whatever into your LMS, for your learners to use, share, etc., – it is part of the storage fee. We can surf the internet, find other vendors. E-Learning 24/7.
