Equally horrible, is that some companies are still using old versions of IE or an outdated computer system with Windows 2000 on it. Will the vendors support the new versions of all the browsers? Chrome is already offering a beta version of their new browser with support of HTML5, Safari already exists. They won’t.

Very rare to find with vendors, but for those of us who do not want our end users to see a final version of stuff not relevant to the topic, an edit option prior to the final version (which includes the audio/video portion) being released, can be cool. They do offer a higher education version, but this is all about K-12. This has always been a personal fav of mine, and its primary version K-6 is fantastic. The K-12 version is a real screamer, and I say it in a good way. My personal favorite is the ability for the teacher to leave audio and video feedback to the students.

Bookmark feature is interesting, but with this one item – Saba’s past UI issues appear – too bad, it has an spin on the bookmark concept.epub file upload that worked, which is rarely seen in any file acceptance of other social learning systems and even the majority of e-learning solutions to begin with.

As for personal and professional development, it truly amazes me how many vendors in the e-learning space as a whole, forget this type of training. The courses were 100% online, SCORM compliant, with video, audio – including recording your voice and comparing to the speaker. Audio/video/image editing – 51.4%.

Screen capture, audio editing. Vendor adoption is slow. Many companies ban access to social media sites, especially Facebook. eBook publishing capability – I see this as a real winner by 2014, but right now only a couple of vendors are offering it within their RCAT, heck even LMS. Still in the infant stage.
