While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management.

9 iSpring Solutions- iSpring Suite - PowerPoint add on products are still a hot item in the space. The pro version is really geared towards instructional designers and e-learning developers. The app store is awesome and I wish more vendors would follow suit. That said, the enterprise version is really strong.

Even with slideshare, you can actually post e-books and other documents, so it follows suit in a system. Read, share, print or send to mobile devices: ebooks, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations/slides, documents, images, audio/video – user generated. Incorporate end user generated audio/video. What solution ?

These were not characters that rarely moved, rather you could position them all over the screen, place them in the background and even record audio as part of the output. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Another vendor I spoke with, is offering 80 templates. FT’s Aura product.

Many vendors service multi-conglomerates that are international, rather than companies that are based only in country x and no where else. and European vendors interestingly enough, do not follow suit. How will the LMS/LCMS vendors adopt, since other vendors in the mobile space are likely to follow suit (granted, not all).

You are still able to add video clips, audio, etc. Excluding niche shows – depending as a vendor whom you are targeting – TechKnowledge is the best show to attend. ASTD International is nice, but you get everyone there, not just e-learning. You can also connect the iPad PPT to a monitor and show it there.

For other versions, like SCORM 2004 3rd edition, I know quite a few vendors who didn’t see value in it/had challenges with adding it – time consuming as one vendor told me. Thus Tin Can API could easily follow suit from many vendors’ perspectives. E-Learning 24/7. Creepy Clown Level -4.

As the evolution of e-learning continues, the rapid content authoring tools (RCAT) market follows suit. This is a growing market with new vendors showing up, but at the same time, others disappearing. PowerPoint or Word converted to Flash, instant, virtually no add-ons, i.e. additional learning objects.

Another vendor, Xplana.com allows you to create communities, share the content (courses, books, presentations, video, audio, images, etc.) Not just courses, but presentations, materials, video, audio – all user generated content. In my LMS directory (which includes LCMS, Learning Portals) there are 369 vendors.
