iSpring continues to improve its eLearning development suite of tools. The latest improvement is Text to Speech and it works really well. To use the Text to Speech feature, first, add the voiceover script to the slide notes.

In Articulate Storyline 360, a new feature is introduced which is “Text-to-Speech”. This feature is helpful in two ways: To keep the project cost low, machine generated audio can be used. Just need to add the audio text or the Closed Captions, and machine generated audio is ready.

During our live, online Articulate Storyline Beginner classes , we teach students how to import and record voiceover audio. The most common question we get about voiceover audio is “Can Storyline convert text to audio files?” " However, “no” became “yes” thanks to a recent Storyline 360 update. If you select the Insert tab on the Ribbon and click the Audiotool (located in the Media group), you’ll find Text-to-Speech.

Listings can always be found on a new page called “rankings” which will appear in one month – thus eliminating the need to do a search (if applicable). Welcome to my yearly Halloween Edition. This year we will focus on the top ten authoring tools for 2013. Each one has a frightful story to tell. What I like about this product includes the ability to output to HTML5, works on mobile devices, is extremely easy to use, appears within PowerPoint and SCORM. A newbie to the rankings. Nice assessment tool. For House on the Haunted Hill, he had skeletons come down from the screen to the audience.

The magic 8 ball is a fun item to use. Have you ever opened up a fortune cookie and said to yourself, “How did it know that about me?” From an interaction (listed as interactivity) to a feature within the product. Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. I do believe that HTML5 output will continue to grow as an authoring tool feature. Audio Editing. You could also change the text.

I readily admit that I was unsure what to expect. I suspected that the expo would feature a large quantity of rapid content authoring tools. From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . These were not characters that rarely moved, rather you could position them all over the screen, place them in the background and even record audio as part of the output.

The RCAT (rapid content authoring tool) market continues to be healthy with nothing to slow it down – uh, except maybe one thing (more on that later). Yeah, I know we have just jumped into January, but in a review of the past several months, authoring tools continue to follow a similar path amongst themselves with certain feature sets. However, where you would expect some to move towards – they haven’t, which is disappointing on multiple tiers.

I am attempting to modify a lesson produced in Captivate 9 that works fine but now I need to add audio. I don’t want the “Next” button to appear until the audio is finished. One the first slide where I’ve added audio using the text-to-speech option, I have the next button appearing as desired near the end of the audio playback. seconds to wait for the user to select the button.
