At times you'll want to take video from another shot and mix it in with another audio track. If you can barely hear the narrator, you can use audio editing software like Adobe Audition or Soundbooth to fix it. Export to a format that Captivate supports, like FLV, and then import it into the program. There are apps for that!

Empower on the other hand does work, since it is a self-contained product and does not directly go into PowerPoint 2010 (but you can upload PowerPoint slides into it). Audio recorder and adding audio. rather than the “slides” thing – which I hate. Record audio – Dialog box appears, easy to record.
