A screencast is a digital video recording of your computer screen and usually includes audio narration. Think of your apps, websites, IMs, emails, and everything that makes up your digital world. Give students audio-visual feedback (the next best thing to a 1:1 conversation). This will allow you to easily edit video and audio.

For instance, dont show a detailed animation and have text on the screen with an audio narration. I dont think the answer is to only show a visual, or only have audio. They often use slick video to show a concept while a voice-over explains everything, so the learners only role is to passively absorb. Im way out of practice.
