Review: iSpring Suite 10

BrightCarbon

Well, today I’m reviewing iSpring Suite 10, a PowerPoint extension that claims it helps people create eLearning in record time. iSpring Suite 10 is a PowerPoint-based toolkit. My favourite thing has to be the ability to see the audio waves visually on a timeline.

Adobe Captivate 5 & 5.5: Export Audio

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

I received an interesting email last week from a Captivate developer asking where imported audio was physically stored on the computer. She had edited much of the audio from within Captivate and needed to share some of the edited clips with team members in her office. Once audio clips are imported into a Captivate project, they are embedded within the project and are not stored externally. Choose Audio > Audio Management to open the Advanced Audio Mangement dialog box.

Adobe Captivate: Replacing PowerPoint Slides But Keeping the Audio

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

The developer had imported a 60-slide PowerPoint presentation into Captivate and then added audio to each of the Filmstrip slides. In this instance, he was given a completely different presentation (the same audio was going to be used, but each slide visual was going to change). The bottom line is he didn't have to start over again and was able to reuse all of the imported audio files. Even though you deleted the slides, the audio files are still in the Library.

Adobe Captivate 5: Control the Volume of Background Audio

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

Captivate developers have been able to add background audio to their projects since Captivate was known as RoboDemo. The process of adding background audio hasn't changed much over the years. In Adobe Captivate 5, you simply choose Audio > Import to > Background and open the audio file (wav or mp3). When importing audio, you always had the ability to lower the background audio, but you couldn't control how much the audio was actually lowered.

I was surprised by how good the audio was considering the poor experiences I've had with most built-in microphones in the past.

Adobe Captivate 6: Audio Control Without a Playbar

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

It's not a big deal if you don't need the playbar, but what if you need to give your learners the ability to mute/unmute the audio? Here is what Adobe says about using cpCmdMute:    According to the Description shown in the image above, you set the variable to  1  if you want to mute the audio,  0  if you don't. You need to use this variable in the project to allow the learner to control the audio when there isn't a playbar.

Adobe Captivate: Six Ways to Use Voiceover Scripts

The Logical Blog by IconLogic
