While the solution delivers more than enough for a LMS and the company gets “it&# for where the industry needs to go, GeoLearning has made some interesting decisions with GeoMaestro that to say the least is bewildering. Offers Lectora (rapid content authoring tool) as a separate option which can integrate with GeoMaestro.

Paul Schneider in my opinion is one of the guru’s in the authoring tool industry. After getting my PhD in Educational/Counseling psychology I went to work for a small startup, GeoLearning. Before we jump into PENS, let’s begin in the authoring tool industry. In the authoring tool industry there seems to be hesitancy to go into the cloud. While there are authoring tools that are SaaS based, there are significantly more that are not.

On the Maestro side (formally GeoLearning), I don’t understand how they could have dropped the ball on the platform. Q: We use WebEx as our web conferencing tool. The problem with the web conferencing tools that currently exist (as a whole) is that none of them are 100% perfect. Q: I loved Authorware, but today I can’t find an authoring tool that can match it or even get close to it. There is nothing like interaction.

When talking to some of the folks at the booth, they said that there are discussions around the authoring tool and how it will play with the Litmos system, but nothing is defined. The interface you showed was similar in many ways to the old GeoLearning 3D look back in 2002 (which Geo eventually dumped – too bad).
