Two years ago there were some folks who believed that mobile learning where tools, etc. What has been applying is the term mobile learning and how it it pitched to consumers in the e-learning sector, especially with LMS/LCMS/Learning platform vendors. HTML5 output/publish – if you have a built in course authoring tool.

IMO this is not an authoring tool, although I’m sure you can spin it that way if you want to. How about – Litmos actually skinning the product themselves – as the majority of vendors do – at no additional charge or more simple click customization options. KICK THE FIELD GOAL – IT’S GOOD!

Paul Schneider in my opinion is one of the guru’s in the authoring tool industry. In the past year, I have seen a wider number of vendors including the PENS course standard, which in my opinion, enables anyone who builds courses, a streamlined and fast process for publishing into a LMS/learning platform.

Well, not yet, but it is coming up and with that are all those wonderful vendors and that magical expo. But one of the biggest problems I see at such shows are the number of vendors who in hindsight I wished I avoided. I recall at ATD this past year, a vendor who was trying to sell people ahead of time their LMS. CD2Learning.

Indeed, many traditional eLearning vendors ventured into the market though not in the volume or with the fanfare we had postulated twelve months ago. As predicted, the methods and tools needed for mobile content authoring and delivery also matured a generation or two over the “season” and a few new use cases for mobile learning appeared too.
