The Latest: Rapid Content Authoring Tool Market

eLearning 24-7

The RCAT (rapid content authoring tool) market continues to be healthy with nothing to slow it down – uh, except maybe one thing (more on that later). Yeah, I know we have just jumped into January, but in a review of the past several months, authoring tools continue to follow a similar path amongst themselves with certain feature sets. I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game.

Reaction to IMS Learning Impact 2012 Conference

Xyleme

We may have all been drinking the same cool-aid, but at the IMS Global Learning Consortium Learning Impact Conference in Toronto, there was a meeting of the minds. The IMS is at the cutting edge of web 2.0 LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) in particular has cracked the LMS open. The learning tools that were previously only native to the LMS are now are externalized from the LMS, and enabled as cloud-based “tools.”

What is a Learning Management System? (2019 Update)

Docebo

Today’s enterprise learning strategies require smart solutions that go beyond the capabilities of traditional tools. To understand how a Learning Platform will help improve enterprise learning objectives, you must first grasp what an LMS is, why it’s an essential tool, and how to get the most out of it. A Learning Management System is a software-based platform that facilitates the management, delivery, and measurement of an organization’s corporate e-learning programs.

The IMS Global Learning Consortium has announced the release latest version of the IMS Learning Tools Interoperability Specification – Version 1.1. SCORM vs. LTI: what’s the difference?

Rustici Software

If you’ve been familiar with Rustici Software for a long time, you’ll know we’ve helped people for a long time with SCORM and xAPI. It stands for Learning Tools Interoperability and it is a standard created by the IMS Global Learning Consortium. With LTI, a learner logs into an LMS (what is referred to as an “LTI tool consumer”) and typically selects a resource link to play a course. Governance: LTI is created and maintained by IMS; SCORM by ADL.

Cammy Beans Learning Visions: Half of Companies Blocking Facebook

Learning Visions

One real problem is corporate fear of social networking tools. Im no Facebook super-user and I havent experienced a huge time suck from it, but I suppose its possible. Cammy, Im just a "lite" Facebook user, but I have seen profile pages that list their workplaces with commentary about how horrible their company is, or how much they hate their job. So Im not sure the issue is people leaking secret information, but maybe just companies afraid of being bad-mouthed.
