You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. They could use cameras, graphics software, a combination of these, or some other tools to create and capture their illustrations. 5) Video Mashups: Ask students to find 3 unrelated YouTube videos. Using the built in YouTube Editor, ask them to select sections and mash them up, mixing elements to create a totally new message.

An API (Application Program Interface) enables an interface from a piece of software to communicate with another piece of software (in its simplest form) or multiple pieces of software (called a mashup). However there are vendors who sell their API solution wrapped in a piece of software. Mashups Possibilities.

In my Ten Predictions for eLearning for 2008 , I said - Wiki + SCORM + Add-ins will become more common for easy authoring. Not sure if he saw my post, but I was just reminded by Tim Seager from Xerceo about their Prescribe tool that provides: Full Wiki, RSS functionality that is SCORM conformant for tracking and managing competencies.

Everything EdTech suffers from, and has for numerous years – in terms of how students learn, showed up, which resulted in really this indignation that online learning or as folks refer to as remote learning is a dud. Articulate Rise, is a cloud-based authoring tool, not a hybrid – and will fully admit as so.

It's not that far of a stretch to say it was created to be the ultimate e-Learning tool. As the web transformed over time people discovered that the ability to collaborate on projects over the web made it an even more powerful tool for sharing information. This is where the rubber meets the road, by dreaming up features we invent the mLearning systems future right here. Social/Collaborative – Offering tools that mimic social media/network software will be one obvious theme. I envisage two primarily that would add value; the first would be an ontology search/verify/suggest tool.

Nowadays I think that the gig is up, and everyone realizes the scam. Some of my favorite surprises in 2023, okay, have continued for many years, and still are rocking it, include: Rapid Content Authoring Tools – that have been reduced down, to be nothing more than slides where you can stick images/items in, and lots of templates.

And you can have multiple APIs too (again sub-connectors), the proper term is called a Mashup (two or more APIs, and honestly more common than having only one API). . Common Tools (trend wise are). SaaS authoring tools . Business Intelligence tool (a hot trend for 2020 and yes, some learning systems have built-in ones).

I bet that is the first time you have seen a mashup between music from Hair (great musical, bad movie) and a holiday tune. If you want the longer version, you can review past criteria, mash it up, and extract key details. Built-in authoring tool far better than most in the space. Let the sunshine in. The Criteria.

LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) in particular has cracked the LMS open. The learning tools that were previously only native to the LMS are now are externalized from the LMS, and enabled as cloud-based “tools.” The IMS is at the cutting edge of web 2.0 open and flexible architectures. LTI is a disruptor.

Prediction #1 => Hacking Work At this time last year, I did my series Tool Set 2009. One of the common reasons I hear from knowledge workers inside large organizations for not following the suggestions I provide is that the organization itself puts up barriers to working this way. Lots of managers will choose to look the other way.

You could count on your hand the number of vendors even looking at it, and I’m not just talking LMSs/Learning Portals, but content authoring tools and other products. A couple of rapid content authoring tool vendors are incorporating HTML5 features in their tool, which can be used on tablets, and of course the iPad.

I've seen the Content Authoring Research Report from the eLearningGuild that suggests what tools are being used in 2005 and it suggests that most content is being authored using fairly traditional tools such as Flash, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, Captivate, Lectora. embedded based on other tools or add-ins.

and Edupunk movements - the do it yourself culture in which costly proprietary systems and tools are spurned in favour of haphazard, unbranded, informal mashups and loose aggregations of tools. There are a huge array of social web tools to choose from and many of them are free at the point of delivery.

They do not allow you to use any other 3rd party rapid content authoring tool vendor. Again, a learning portal can achieve this – i.e. by you incorporating APIs, mashups or some component of such with code and you are using as a back end a CMS. Please download it and not just open up open in your window.
