Saba Cloud – Saba is such a wild card here. Now they are openly stating talent management system, which again, doesn’t scream as a system for customer training. Saba was once a kingpin in the industry, then dropped down, now, I think they are on the upswing again, so it is a system to keep on an eye on. Quizdom is also included too – very good assessment tool, and their built-in authoring tool could be sold as a standalone.

The learning system vendor is not an expert in authoring tools (99% of the time), and thus the terminology, and approach is all over the place. . Plus, I always recommend going 3rd party authoring tool, even if your system comes with one.

I removed any vendor built 100% on free open source or open source whereas it is always 100% customized so that one could build a mega monster or build a 1995 version. For folks who think I ignore the big dog vendors, sorry to disappoint, but Saba, SumTotal Learn and Cornerstone Learning Suite are in the Top 50. and Xyleme (who notes as a LCMS, but is actually more along the lines of a Content Delivery service with LCMS parts and an assessment tool).
