I wouldn’t touch the Saba solution, which has another alphabetical salad of letters, because CBX is significantly better. The Other modules – Absorb Create LI is their authoring tool. Many vendors, PF included is of the belief that everyone has a BI tool, and prefers to use that for their learning.

Welcome back – Saba and Absorb LMS. SuccessFactors, Oracle and others are not. .

The ones who may not are those who identify themselves as “Training mgt systems and alike” – because they are really focused on the course authoring tool and are not a LMS in the true sense of the word. Q: Saba, SumTotal, Cornerstone, Taleo, SuccessFactors must be the best because a lot of people buy these systems.

Since very few folks have a TOC with their video, the option of going to a specific section in the video is too end-user driven, and trust me, fast-forwarding to find the spot, then go back to the spot, is cumbersome. I stopped using an RFP, in 2001 when I would buy systems.

Trust me, that never works out well. . Saba ties their one to their LRS and can capture the page. It should be a must with any system that has a built-in authoring tool. That is being pro-active. Responding by text, is reactive. Video assessments. Bookmarklet in the browser. Fun fact: It is rare to find. . Bottom Line.

Yes, you can get a solid LMS for under 10K (depending on the number of users), but you also need to factor in the initial setup fee (if applicable), an authoring tool, maybe a web conferencing solution, perhaps a few other e-learning tools (if so desired) and the understanding that this is all about progression. Quizdom is another app, and it is a very cool assessment component, fun, hip, and trust me learners will love it. Administration Functionality scored 95%. Content marketplace, connectors are solid.

Rule of thumb when looking at top 10 lists, if all of the links go to Amazon, then it isn’t a site to trust. And metrics in the learning system space in general, does a poor job when it comes to really telling your learning story, which trust me you want. I have found some nice things via it, but also do a comparison. Weaknesses.
