After my session at ISPI earlier this week, someone commented that what would have really been useful is a list of the top 10 authoring tools in the market. During my presentation, I flashed up on the screen a list of the 122+ tools listed in the Brandon Hall database. of tools used: 39% use four or more tools!

Company : Udutu Price : Free for MyUdutu, Udutu Learn, Udutu Teach. MyUdutu - you will need to create a free account before you can start using the authoring tool. This is not an elite solution, but not a lot of rapid e-learning authoring tools are, however it offers simulations which is a nice benefit.

This month’s Big Question from the Learning Circuit’s blog is, basically, where do you begin? Design, ID, a tool, ? For production, there are lots of tools out there. Apparently Udutu is free to author in, and there are lots of tools out there, SmartBuilder, Lectora, etc.
