Will Blogs, Wikis, RSS, Mashups be Used in Corporate eLearning?

In this post, Dave unfortunately lumps together blogs, wikis, mashups, rss feed together (probably because eLearning 2.0 However, I think the answer about adoption rates is going to be quite different for these things with Wikis and Mashups being adopted at a very high rate. Wiki Course Authoring

In my Ten Predictions for eLearning for 2008 , I said - Wiki + SCORM + Add-ins will become more common for easy authoring. It's horribly cryptic, you can't tell what's happening and it defeats the whole point that I see in using a Wiki for authoring. A Wiki should make course authoring extremely easy and even easier to make updates. This is something I described a long time ago in: Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups

Clear about the concept

One was casually mashing up a couple of essentially incommensurate ideas. If you’re going to claim authority, don’t depend on broken concepts. I went to hear a talk the other day. It was about competency-based education (CBE) for organizations. Ostensibly. And, while I’m now affiliated with IBSTPI , it’s not like I’m a competency expert. And maybe I expect too much, but I really hope for people to be clear about the concept.

A long time ago I posted about Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups where I suggested that there would be easy ways to add social dimensions to our courses. I still think there's value in having these kinds of widgets available to us to include in our authoring. There's also a difference here in terms of who authors the content. Most of the social learning start-ups look for users to author a lot of the content.
