The first content authoring product I choose was Articulate Studio '09. This product really makes a lot of sense and it's integration with PowerPoint makes it easy for more people to become involved in the authoring process. It works within PowerPoint so that any one who knows PPT can quickly come up to speed to create a nice looking presentation. The last content authoring tool I choose was Captivate. Captivate does a very good job of creating software simulations.

In the first screenshot you did see that I inserted two system variables on the main master slide: bottom left the name of the author, and bottom right the slide number. Be careful with the Blank master slide: it is meant to be used for PPT import, and for Software simulations. This short blog is meant for newbies, and is (again) due to what I hear/read on the forums, during (intermediate) training and consultancy job.
