Boutique shops for custom course development were springing up faster than you could say Sock Puppet (Pets.com). The dominating authoring tool by far, was Authorware. Authorware usage and fan base made Storyline supporters and usage look like a rock stage at a state fair. E-Learning developers – again, common term.

Should I write about the CLO role (not everyone but plenty) who push hard on new learning technologies because their companies can afford it – such as custom VR content, even though, overall other companies can’t – creating a have and have not? Creating, once again, a have and have not situation.

Could someone create a course at said company? I used them). It was text, that’s it.

PowerPoint is for Presentations, not for creating an e-learning course or as part of your course development. Then Dreamweaver, a tool for designing web sites, rolled out templates for course building. Just because it exists – readily available for creating a course with it – i.e. PPT, doesn’t mean you should. .

Don’t Go Crazy Trying to Create an Award Winning Course. You’ll learn basic design principles and how to organize the content on your screen to create more visual impact. Compared to building courses in Flash or Authorware, the rapid elearning tools are easy to use. Create a simple 10 slide PowerPoint file.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Q: I loved Authorware, but today I can’t find an authoring tool that can match it or even get close to it. So, back for another installment.
