Most of the new authoring tools either use PPT as their backbone or offer the ability to import slides. Interface creation, navigation buttons, LMS tracking, and testing abilities are then typically added to the PPT functionality. Using these new tools meant that I had to start using PPT. Everyone has PPT.

Compared to building courses in Flash or Authorware, the rapid elearning tools are easy to use. I don’t have the demos running through an LMS or AO since I don’t need to track them. I like it that I don’t have to know flash but can still get some of the same effects. Play Around with the Software. Good stuff.

Typically these notes are then reported in a spreadsheet, a Word doc, via email, or occasionally through a more robust tracking system. On the other hand if the developer does not agree that a change is required, or if he has a question about the feedback, he can type a note to that effect and send that information back to the tester.
