He is the author of seven book including a best-seller on creating effective e-learning and in has received ASTD’s Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award in 2011. If ADDIE produces the products you want, does so comfortably, and works effectively with the constraints you work with, I’d stick with ADDIE.

It puts forward lots of suggestions for how knowledge workers can leverage technology to make themselves more effective. And the first experiences as you tried to move your Authorware, IconAuthor or Toolbook course to run using their new web delivery solution? It was terrible! It was a major step back. A lot like Jack.

Anyone who used Authorware can attest to that. When a vendor uses slides as part of their course design approach they are doing you and the person building the course (if not one and the same) a major disservice and fueling the misunderstanding about effective course design. the person creating it. . Bottom Line.

Authorware officially dies (actually this post is from 2007) while Director11 is (re)born. Dan wow-ed us with the simplisity of imagery for effective learning. Shouldn't we be more interested in "effective communication" no matter what form it takes? Opensource lego-style mobile gadgetry goodness. Okay, hold the phone.
