Hypercard and Authorware both launched in 1987, making it easy to create multi-media programs. The term, “click next,” became a punchline at industry events. The computers were great, but software was lacking. Users wanted to create their own programs without needing to know programming and thus, the authoring tool was born.

New Slide – Create a new page, chapter, lesson, whatever, generally speaking Slide screams PPT and no offense to the person who has been doing ID for x number of years, if you said “slide” to someone working on Authorware back in the day, you would have gotten a head slap. Uh oh, here comes trouble.

I was never told about Gagnes 9 Events or the Kilpatrick Levels or ADDIE or the ARCS model or even much about adult learning styles, except that people all learned differently. I learned Toolbook and Authorware on my own while in the program. My boss had an educational technology degree from Harvard.

As a blog post it’s probably pretty crap – too long, too much scrolling, but as a record of the event, and a method for me to retain my learning, it is just dandy, thank you. SESSION 807 – USING SHAREPOINT TO ENHANCE ONLINE LEARNING EVENTS. There’s a lot. Quick and easy to set up. Runs fine, but a little slow.
