It is time to realize that Flash output just isn’t enough anymore for folks. If you are an Authorware fanatic missing the old days, you are still going to miss it – because while these capabilities are being added to tools they are still not at the level of Authorware. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. Listen, Authorware is dead, so why create a product that is trying to bring it back to life with your own product? Flash isn’t going anywhere, except maybe the route of leaded gasoline.

Flash Widgets One of my biggest issues with Captivate as a serious eLearning tool, up to now, has been the limited feature set and the difficulty in extending that feature set. Widgets are specially formatted Flash swf files that know how to communicate with the host Captivate project. How do you make a widget?
