The list does include older tools like Authorware, which are no longer being supported and definitely missing a tool or two. Janet Clarey of Brandon Hall Research recently wrote up a nice review of My Udutu. But this could be a great place for an organization to start sorting through the mess of tools out there.

I’ve used a bunch of desktop authoring tools – Lectora, Dreamweaver, Authorware, Captivate, and Articulate to name a few. Recently, I’ve been exploring collaborative web-based options for a report I’m writing and was reintroduced to MyUdutu (from Udutu). It’s a very flexible and very versatile product.
