Since my post on SCORM Implementation for Mobile Devices , I have wanted to write a specific post on offline SCORM implementation for Blackberry, which is still the most widely used mobile device in enterprise and business domains. As mentioned before, this was an offline solution hence course content was residing in the device itself.

An LRS uses xAPI to collect learner data, or experiences, from both online and offline sources. The main difference between these two systems is the LRS is primarily in place to track and store xAPI statements whereas the LMS, in addition to managing all your learning needs, tracks and reports the statements through its own native reporting.

Personally, I am a big fan of responsive mobile design. Speaking of which, Trend 3 Online/Offline synch. People want to access their content, take courses, do assessments, and use their mobile app for a wide variety of items beyond the course capability BUT also want the ability to go offline and then when possible, go online.
