I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

Many vendors state “LMS&# , even though it comes with a content authoring tool and additional features – this is a trend. Vendors Reviewed. Two vendors – Plateau and GeoLearning products will be reviewed and presented to you in the next three weeks. E-Learning 24/7. I was the ghost.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. Your competitors are not always the Big Dogs – Learn.com, Saba, Plateau, etc.

Never mind, now back to our regular scheduled blog. If you visit the Taleo home page, you will learn the following two items. I must have been sleeping, but when did “learning” slide under Talent Management? Oracle then followed suit by acquiring SuccessFactors who had acquired Plateau in the past.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Why have a system to house courses, when ILT was the main way of learning and training?

The Extended Enterprise blog post and directory will be visible this weekend. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors. I will be launching the first week of December via this blog, a one stop shop for LMS Demos. Vendors can post a demo of their LMS, up to five minutes in length. E-Learning 24/7.

CourseMill 6 by Trivantis. Melon Lite LMS. Totara LMS. Meridan KSI. NetSmart University. Operitel LearnFlex. SAP’s LMS. Avilar WebMentor LMS.
