open source software options: Audacity. Mixer–no open source ones out there, but Audacity does a lot. Save to CD, swf, avi, mp3, Quicktime. I’ve done this for SME interviews for our team blog–worked pretty well. Open or closed captions. Open captions are visible like subtitles. Pop filter.

Sure, you can make a video recording of your computer screen with the QuickTime Player app, but there a few major hangups: There’s no option to trim or edit. First, open Snagit and select the video tab from the Capture Window. The selection will automatically snap to the windows you have open. Open Camtasia.

From journals and articles to videos and blogs, there’s lots of great content online. Take a look at: Quicktime: a user friendly video tool that’s great for filming and uploading quick voxpops. Totara: a flexible, open LMS delivering training and performance appraisals. Content curation tools. An LMS may be the answer.

While this market has always existed, it is clearly taking a whole new form in two areas: Strong emphasis to embed into a web site or blog. Classtools.net K12, A, PY, Unknown on types of questions, Ads, embed in blogs, wikis and web sites. Capabilities to push quiz on Twitter and Facebook. Answer sheets. ProProfs (Online).

One option may be to deliver that content through (VPN) access, like Tom Kuhlmann wrote about on the Rapid E-Learning Blog a few months ago. I hope this has cleared up a few things and, yes, opened a few cans of worms, as well. In that case, there is urgency to consider something other than a Flash-based solution. Much bigger.
