eLearning 24-7

I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance. Plateau Career and Succession. Plateau Compensation. Front end (what the end user sees) UI – A giant Kudos to Plateau.

Initially, the conversation was about having learning content appear on the enterprise portal. Many LMS vendors provide portlets, gadgets or widgets that allow for access of learning content (most often meaning courses and courseware) through the corporate portal. It's certainly better than putting a static link to your LMS somewhere on the corporate portal / intranet. With deep links in Plateau, users can launch content in two or three clicks.

If you are seeking TM as your focus and you want one of the big dogs – I found Plateau’s system to offer appropriate functionality for it, but found some real concern in other areas (see my product review). My live blogged notes from Corporate University Week. MyCareer at VA – just rolled out this portal. Use Plateau SaaS model as the TMS. The Extended Enterprise blog post and directory will be visible this weekend. The downer on the latter is they are cutting short the feature sets that are possible in an EE, such as multiple domains – standalone, rather than shared on one portal, with sub-portals or having incentive points. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors. I will be launching the first week of December via this blog, a one stop shop for LMS Demos.
