I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance. Plateau Career and Succession. Plateau Compensation. Front end (what the end user sees) UI – A giant Kudos to Plateau.

A lot of great products out there this year, new updates and latest versions; new companies, new services and just some real innovation. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Learn.com offered some robust SL capabilities, but you have to pay for one of their premium versions to have it. Vendors who are my clients are aware, prior for me working with them, that there is no quid pro quo, nor any special treatment given to them on my blog.

SuccessFactors – Just for those folks to remember, SF is owned by SAP and had acquired Plateau. They haven’t been Plateau for a few years, so stop calling them Plateau – a pet peeve of mine. D2L has an Enterprise version, I wouldn’t use it, I get why they are jumping into Corporate, hint it has to do with money (potential). I won’t tell you, not until the report is available for purchase then there is a blog post.

A new LMS directory will appear in mid March – and be available to everyone and anyone via the blog. 12 SuccessFactors - Thankfully the ol’ Plateau design is long and gone, and replaced with a crisp user interface. Offers a “Premium version” – but either version is priced affordable. In an earlier post, I presented the top ten LMSs of 2013-14, but held back on announcing the top 20. Not anymore. Below are my top 20 rankings for 2013-14.

You will always find products that are not well known yet receive rave reviews or “best buy” How many times do you go into your local supermarket and compare the generic version X to the brand name? Plateau is long gone and buried and people should realize that. SuccessFactors UI itself is slick and it offers a very nice extended enterprise (which is noted in my last blog post), but if I was to post a list of top ten LMS vendors they would not be there – reason?

The Extended Enterprise blog post and directory will be visible this weekend. They offer a SaaS version, but that is fee based. and Schoology (whose basic version is free to education/academia) – The tie is because the super robust is their prem version, but nevertheless the basic version has the standard feature sets – including analytics, create assignments and events, assessment tool, email and SMS, filters. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors.
