Like many of you, I was surprised to find out that Skillsoft is in the process of acquiring SumTotal. The reason for the acquisition at least from a press release and information on the purchase (and available for viewing on the Skillsoft site), screams of HCM (Human Capital Management). Getting back to Skillsoft and SumTotal.

I’ve heard it from vendors. Many consumers, I surmise are doing it already without even realizing it, and even some vendors are too. Preferably on/off synch, but as I mentioned in my LinkedIn mini-post, most learning system vendors still are not on/off synch with said mobile app. An app is often listed as a mobile app.

Content was videos, PDFs, documents, media files (audio), images, anything and everything that was not a course. Another vendor has one-page articles if you will, where learners print out and use. First off, this vendor houses it on their own servers, not on the LMS. After all, it screams bad business. Here’s why.
