Learning Pool receives the Platinum standard as one of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies

Awarded to those with superior business performance, we have maintained our status as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed Companies’ for almost a decade. For three consecutive years, we have also received the Platinum award, having held the Gold standard prior to that.

Led by Deloitte Ireland in association with Bank of Ireland, the ‘Best Managed Companies’ awards program is designed to identify and celebrate excellence among the best-managed privately-owned companies in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

To qualify for the award, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment of their management abilities and practice, demonstrating high-caliber strategy, capability, innovation and culture. Judges also look beyond financial performance at areas such as the company’s environmental, social and governance standards, as well as its talent strategy.

Frank Doherty, Financial Controller and Sam Rhodes, Head of Finance, represented Learning Pool at the gala evening for the 15th annual Best Managed Companies Awards.

“We are honored to have been recognized as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed Companies’ for the best part of 10 years,” said, Louise McElvaney, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Receiving the Platinum award for the third year in a row is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, each and every one of whom plays a crucial role in Learning Pool’s continued growth and innovation.”

Brian Murphy, Lead Partner for Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards Program at Deloitte Ireland also said: “This year, we’re celebrating 15 years of the BMC program and the incredible companies that have qualified. Even though this year’s cohort faced another challenging period, over the past 15 years we’ve seen how indigenous Irish businesses find opportunities in change. Despite the uncertainties of the past few years, the confidence of Irish businesses is clear as more and more are scaling their market reach internationally.”

Last week, at the 15th annual awards ceremony, Deloitte recognized 130 indigenous companies representing 24 of the 32 countries across the island of Ireland. We were among just four other companies to receive the Platinum award for 2023.

Nikki Canavan, Senior Director, Head of Origination and Sustainability, Corporate Banking Ireland and judge panel member commented: “Over the last number of years, the companies in the Best Managed Companies network have shown huge strength in the face of disruption and uncertainty. This year in particular – a year that tested Irish businesses like never before – the judges noted the commitment, bravery, resilience and tenacity of the applicant companies.”
