Learnovate-Patron-Members

Learning Pool continues Patron Member partnership with Learnovate building on 12 months of research

We are thrilled to have signed on as Patron Members of the global research and innovation centre, the Learnovate Centre for the second year in a row.

Learnovate, an industry-led technology centre funded by Enterprise Ireland, provides thought leadership to the world’s learning and development community on the innovative use of learning technology. Based at Trinity College Dublin, it empowers organizations through the exploration and application of transformative technology solutions.

Strongest when born from collaboration, innovation is at the heart of what both Learning Pool and the Learnovate Centre do. This is why we are proud to continue as a Patron Sponsor, building on combined research and thought leadership over the past year.

Sitting on the organization’s Thought Leader Circle, in the last 12 months, the Learning Pool Labs team has participated in a number of working groups. Topics ranged from ‘Assessing 21st Century Skills’ to ‘Remotivation: A Model for Improving Motivation on a Digital Course’ – all aimed at helping to improve the experiences of learners while training in digital environments.

Our work with Learnovate Centre has also branched out to a shared Business Value Impact study. This utilizes a working model developed by Learnovate, that offers practical guidelines for predicting and reporting on the business value of learning and development through a four-stage structure: Plan, Explore, Analyze, Share (PEAS). Processes based on this university-researched model are being incorporated at Learning Pool to help our customers show the true business value and impact of training initiatives within their organizations.

Further, this past year alone, Learning Pool and the Learnovate co-presented at various industry conferences both online and in person. During the Learning Technologies event in London in May, we discussed the business value of L&D and in a panel session in Dublin we focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Cybersecurity sector. Together, we have also participated in several webinars that highlighted topics such as ‘Shaping the Future of Work and Learning’ and ‘Women in Learning’

The monthly Thought Leader Circle meetings offered an opportunity for Learning Pool to connect with thought leaders, advisors and researchers from across the world as well as 58 other member companies including Mastercard, Zoom, Microsoft, PWC and Gates Ventures.

Sharon Claffey Kaliouby, VP of Strategic Alliance at Learning Pool said, “COVID-19 disrupted the workplace in ways we’ve never seen before and intensified the value of workplace learning. Due to this, upskilling and reskilling (on the job or at home) are now at the center of importance for all learners and employees. A combined partnership/patron membership between a vendor and commercialized academic research institutions is rare, but truly the most synergistic approach to tackle the post-pandemic world.”

Learning Pool and the Learnovate Centre created many synergistic opportunities this past year and we look forward to continuing to do so in year two of our Patron membership.

Moving forward, we are using Learnovate research – which indicates how employees today expect to be recruited, onboarded and developed in a hybrid environment – to develop Learning Pool’s suite so that businesses get the most from their solution.
