Not uncommon with some companies that own two different learning system brands if you will, but in this case, it seemed that SumTotal was the driver and Skillsoft the secondary. .

There are plenty of other “LMS” vendors who pitch learning under HR or as a true component of HR). Skillsoft at this present time, does not sell Skillport as a separate LMS. . but I would be shocked if it was 2% (partially due to the number of LMSs, learning systems or whatever they want to call it, in the industry. .

In only a few short days, my reaction to Skillsoft acquiring SumTotal Systems has shifted from “Wow!” I love acquisitions. They shake things up and restack the competitive deck giving new competitors a chance. to “Hmmm” to “Eureka” to “Yeah!”.

If you just want the LMS, then the best fit IMO is SMB (Small to mid-size business). They actually have two learning management systems, but for whatever reason, they are pitching their SharePoint version. This is a tough one, because honestly there are a lot of average learning systems at HR Tech.
