Just as a seriously doubt many of the LMS vendors who feel it is their duty to charge one time setup fees that break your budget bank. With that came companies who knew you could score high profit margins for something people needed – implementation, etc. There are plenty of vendors who do not charge any type of setup fee. Every LMS vendor should have a standard regarding response times, when they receive an inquiry via the internet. I know of one vendor who responds within 30 minutes of receiving an inquiry. This past week I attended an Arena Football league game and came to realize there is a reason I never have been to one – I never heard of anybody nor did i enjoy the blasting of a semi like cannon after they scored a touchdown (which happens a lot). Actually it scored some of the loudest cheers and best of all no cannon fire. When you need a fix, then the LMS vendor must work with you either remote to solve it or if it is big nasty fix, go on site.

Nice selection of vendors – in general. More goodies then in the past, but the vendor with the awesome monkeys – it was nearly impossible to get one – you had a better chance of allowing them to stick leeches on you, then getting one – what’s the point of marketing – if the product you want to show – yours – isn’t walking the floor with folks. Less vendors scanning people’s ID badges, which I found interesting.

The LMS vendor got away with charging an outrageous amount for their system, with a “deal for them” $48 a seat. Again, a “deal” according to the vendor. Overall, a chunk of the vendors are seeing lower numbers than initially projected, and while there are cases where some vendors are “doing well” by in quarterly or H1 sales (first six months) with numbers showing higher than the year before, the majority as noted are not.
