Going Mobile

I’d been waiting a year and half since my two year contract had expired, but wasn’t completely happy with any new mobile phone solutions. Blackberry ’s just too closed for me, and Symbian ’s too odd (these are mobile OSs). The Treo 800W is mighty appealing, except for Windows Mobile. So, we’ll see.

Smart Habits

We can use the standard PIM software (e.g. memos, tasks, contacts, calendar) and any other built-in features, but for me the real opportunity is the distinction between smartphone and the app phone as David Pogue calls it. And I use apps to try to find the best places to eat in airports and around wherever I’m staying.

iLust? Changing the game

Like him or not, he’s changed the face of our digital lives several times: popularizing the GUI interface with the Macintosh, changing the music market with the iPod, and upending the mobile market with the iPhone. It’s got a moderate suite of PIM, including contacts, calendar, and notes (no ToDos, ahem), and a microphone.
