When I signed up for Spaces for Interaction: An Online Conversation about Improving the Traditional Conference , I didn’t appreciate how timely the topic would become. Conferences have traditionally provided foundation knowledge for instructional designers, trainers, CLOs, and others in the field. I’ve learned a whale of a lot from these events over the last twenty years. over the years is wearing thin.

Reflections from May trip to Italy, UK, and Netherlands

Two days of the trip were paid work: One day I keynoted the Learning Innovations and Quality Conference and participated in the launch of the International Council for Open Research and Education ( ICORE ) in Rome. On another day I led a masterclass in informal learning and 702010 for a high-tech company and its customers in Utrecht. I spent most of my time hanging out with five of the savviest people I know, on their home ground.
