I often hear from Captivate developers who are required to output smaller and smaller SWFs, while making their lessons more and more interactive. Fortunately, adding interactivity to a lesson does not negatively impact the size of the published SWF. However, nothing will bloat a published SWF quite like audio.

I created a set of SCORM packages for online training purposes, using Captivate 2017. Last year, using the same programs (slightly older versions), and processes, I published these packages as swf files, and the audio played without any issues. When I publish the same file as SWF/HTML5, the audio plays perfectly.

I published as SWF/HMTL5 and was able to view it on the web using the “multiscreen.html” file in the project’s folder. Do I simply provide my team a link to view the project?

We now have a fix for Adobe Captivate 5 content with Text Animations not playing in the latest Flash Player issue, which does *NOT* require a republish of the entire project! We have an application ‘CaptivateFP10Fixer’ which when given an affected Adobe Captivate 5 SWF with Text Animation, will give an Adobe Captivate 5 SWF [.].

I recently built a new project in Captivate 2017 and was having issues optimizing the size to play well in our LMS. I rebuilt the same project(same images and audio) in Captivate 9 and it saved as a third of the size that it was in Captivate 2017. example Cap.9 9 was 112 MB and Cap. example Cap.9 9 was 112 MB and Cap.

Solution: Close Adobe Captivate 4 and Aggregator if already running. In the Captivate 4 installed folder search for the file “AggGenerator.dll ” Rename the file to “AggGenerator_old.dll”. Flash is the most popular output type, so it’s likely that your courses are SWF Flash-based. SWF courses do not work on certain devices; Apple devices. Storyline calls its project files coursetitle.story , while Captivate calls theirs: coursetitle.cptx. Don’t create any more course content that is Flash SWF based.

I am not able to publish one of my projects to computer (SWF/HTML5) though I have had no trouble publishing other similar projects which also have the same selections in publish settings or preferences under Edit and Quiz. I was able to publish this project in SWF only. but still cannot resolve the problem.

A second Issue im Having ist that suddenly, 2) my preview (full project) and published versions only show slides 1-10 and the rest of the slides (approx. When i delete the.pdf,swf data from the zip, nothing will start. So far the only option I found to use captivate on moodle together with LMS is ths learning package.

Other browsers may decide to issue challenge statements such as “This page requires the Flash player to run. What tool was used to build the course? Do you want to continue?”

One of my most visited blog posts published 7 years ago (Captivate 5, 5.5) is Where is Null? Beware: the embedded movie is a SWF, you need a browser with enabled Flash Player to watch that movie. Everything worked fine for SWF output also in later versions. However it is now partially broken for HTML output in CP9 and CP2017.

Recently one of my colleagues upgraded Captivate to the latest release, 10.0.1.285, and since then whenever she publishes to HTML5 and then launches the index file the project starts and pauses on a blank slide that is NOT part of the project.
