If you were using Captivate 5.5 With Captivate 6 & 7, the Quizzing capability has been enhanced and some things have been changed. You no longer set this from the Quiz Preferences > Reporting category. In fact, I am going to teach you two ways that you can email the quiz results.

Hi Everybody, I’m working on an eLearning that will have a quiz at the end. If the user doesn’t score enough points, it should be able to start the quiz again and after that they have another attempt. So you have the attempts immediately on the slide but I want them to run the quiz completely and than have the option to do the quiz again. Thanks in advance (i’m running the latest version of Captivate).

Only after seeing the Quiz Results slide will a learner understand that clicking the Submit button was mandatory. Fortunately, there is a Quiz setting available in Captivate that will help. “I don’t like that the learner has to press Y or click the slide to continue” When you use CP2019 and have tried out the new VR projects, you will probably have seen that the overlay quiz slides have a slightly different Submit process! For sure, more friendly and intuitive than the second step in normal quiz slides. Crossing my fingers that we have the same button appearing in future versions for all quiz slides. Free Captivate 8 Update Now Available

Adobe has announced a free update to its popular Adobe Captivate 8 software. To get the update, choose  Help > Updates  from within the Captivate program. Once the update is installed, your new Captivate version will be  8.0.1.242. Success/Failure/Hint captions in quiz questions can now be replaced with smart shapes. The update fixes several bugs and includes some nice enhancements.

MC Quiz Retry Image Fill Problem – Captivate is Deleting and Resizing my PNGs

Hello, In both versions of Cap 2017 and 2019, I’m having an issue where I’ve got a small png file, 75 kb, that I’m using as the retry message fill when someone gets a quiz question wrong. Sometimes, when I open the custom image option and select the file to use, it actually creates a new file version – it adds (2), (3), an so on – for the file name and then increases the image size to 1344kb!

When using the Submit All feature for a quiz, up till now it was not possible to localize this popup dialog box (style can be changed using the Object Style Manager): In Captivate 2017, the dialog box whidh appears when you click the option ‘Submit All Messages in Quiz, Preferences has all you need to localize everything. Overall, Captivate 6 is still the same Captivate you know (and hopefully love). Captivate 6 is continuing to improve its PowerPoint capabilities. Captivate 6 allows for non-graded quizzes as well as branching and partial scoring. A welcome change for Captivate authors is the ability to apply themes.
