Old-school LMS companies (like SumTotal , Plateau , Learn.com , GeoLearning and Certpoint ) were acquired by much larger talent and HR-suite providers like SAP/SuccessFactors , Infor , Oracle and IBM. Of course, nothing lasts forever — and just in the nick of time, extended enterprise solutions arrived and saved the LMS industry!

HTML5 output/publish – if you have a built in course authoring tool. Works with Articulate – i.e. you can upload courses from the authoring tool. Course subscription/catalog which can be viewed by group, job role, etc. metaAuthoring – Onyx is the course authoring tool that comes with the solution.

The courses are still on his device. He decides to bounce around the course and complete a few sections or goes linear and completes the entire course. CertPoint VLS Portals – but only to a laptop or CD Rom – so not a mobile device. Communities tied to courses rather than the entire platform.

Rather it refers to a Training Provider, which is a firm/company that sells 3rd party courses through B2B or B2C channels. They don’t have it – and I still don’t understand why not (of course, a lot of systems don’t – what is taking so long?). Certpoint $$$-$$$$. More often that not, B2B channels.

CERTPOINT VLS - including their mobile solution. A real concern though occurred when I asked the salesperson, if the administrator could turn on/off or change the labels on the front of the LMS (for example: it comes standard with “Course Catalog&# , but you want to change it or turn it off). I said excuse me, HTML?

Increase in the number of rapid course authoring tools that offer assessment tool capabilities including randomization, quiz banks, numerous question options and can be part of the course to be uploaded as a SCORM package. Perhaps a few questions asked when they register for the courses. Even a DL# can be worrisome.
