Orientations, classes, and meetings are often held in Second Life. Privacy / Confidentiality - Limit the visibility. So, yes, you have to set up policies and alert people just like you do around any form of electronic communication (email, IM). Last week I presented a session at ASTD TechKnowledge entitled eLearning 2.0 - Applications and Implications. It could just as easily have been called Web 2.0 Applications in Learning.
