See-through learning

Learning with e's

One of the things I dislike greatly about many online learning environments is poor design. They have to spend time thinking about how to get to a discussion group, or how to save content, when their energy and time should be spent learning. Some platforms are better than others of course, but generally many institutional managed learning environments suffer from the same problem - opacity. Learning first, technology second

Learning should always come before technology. Many teachers welcome the idea of bringing new technology into the classroom. Ideas range from games based learning , to the use of social media and networking, to simpler approaches such as the use of digital cameras in art or data logging in science. Sometimes, the technology does get in the way of learning and teaching. The technology, designed to make learning easier, actually ends up making it more difficult.
