Wherever possible, we’re replacing proprietary software with open source. We are scrapping lengthy program development projects in favor of quick-and-dirty rapid development. Building a learning ecology is a different exercise than building a training program. These qualities are at the heart of the discipline of agile programming. The scope of the job of the CLO is mushrooming. My new car is one year old! How did that happen?

Some of the certificate programs conducted before conferences strike me as low-grade diploma mills. It’s a BarCamp, the Open Source Version of a Conference. Giving a presentation is open to anyone, and encouraged! Response 24 Diversity of participants, not too big, space for a social program but no programming of the social program. Response 27 cut down on opening addresses of powerful, but boring speakers.
