The Role of the Collaboration Advisor

Jane Hart

In my previous post, Emerging new roles for learning and performance professionals , I identified some of the new roles appearing in the workplace. For many organizations as well as the workers within them, this is going to be a fundamental new approach to working (and learning), so they are likely to need a lot of support as they adopt these new collaboration practices.

Using an LMS to Support Blended Learning

B Online Learning

As the continuation for this series of blogs on the how’s and why’s of developing and delivering a good blended learning experience for the learner, we will now delve into the platforms that support the delivery. What functions can an LMS give us to support our blended program? What we can glean from this is that, in order for the LMS to support our people, it needs to be flexible in how our people can access and interact with the system.

Learning from one another is what people have always done throughout human history, so ‘social and collaborative learning’ as a learning method is likely to be the oldest one in existence. Are you designing for cooperation or collaboration?

The eLearning Nomad

What should be done collaboratively? It’s often the difference between cooperation and collaboration that requires the biggest mind shift. Because it involves other people, you might think that this is collaboration. It’s OK to have a few cooperative tasks in an eWorkshop, but keep in mind that the backbone of any eWorkshop should be collaborative problem-based learning. This means that the main activities should be collaborative. Use scenarios based on roles.
