In the world of business, the era of networks is crowding out the Industrial Age. In sum, networks are ushering in new ways of doing business. Until the shift from industrial to network dominance, corporations could compensate for crummy learning by hiring experienced people and managing ingenious command-and-control structures. Such an approach fails in the face of rampant change. Workers become problem solvers and innovators instead of cogs in the machine.
