I have recently joined the open section of #MSLOC 430 - a graduate course in the Master''s Program in Learning and Organizational Change at Northwestern University. This is the first week and I am absolutely looking forward to exploring the topics, learning from the other participants and participating in exciting conversations. These are all areas of interest for me, and my hope and plan is to find (make) sufficient time to explore each of these in depth.

When I started using Twitter for my professional growth and development, I didn’t realize that I was also starting to build my personal learning network. I simply found myself tweeting at a learning and development conference using its hashtag and others began connecting with me. I hadn’t yet recognized the value of connectedness , but knew immediately that I was learning from each of these encounters.

Nor is it about the morality of social media companies. But it is about making connections for learning through the ''free'' tools we have at our disposal - social media. In the context of this post, PLN stands for Personal Learning Network , and CoP stands for Communities of Practice.
