Samsung Galaxy S is expected to be the first real challenger to the iPad, it runs on Android OS, offers Flash 10.1 and HTML5. Again, the iPad runs with HTML5, not Flash nor Java. True, the other tablets and Samsung offer Flash 10.1 and Java, but they offer HTML5 too. However, if you tested them in Avant, an alternative browser used by many people, they were not – yet Avant used Flash and Java. Same issue occurred with Opera – used Flash and Java.

Majority of employees access a LMS or Learning Portal out of the workplace. They just do not see the benefit nor value – NOW – of having their products available to be used effectively and optimized for consumer slate tablets, aka “tablets&#. True, smartphones are here to stay, and they are wonderful for a lot of amazing things, but from a true m-learning standpoint, I just do not see the engaging interactive value here, in comparison to other mobile devices.

From my vantage point, training managers effective at face-to-face instruction believed they knew how to translate that form into online instruction. The comparison might be a dentist who decides to attempt heart surgery. At one point I ordered up a truly engaging interactive and the developer with whom I worked finally resorted to a mash up of Flash squeezed into an Articulate shell to create the most creative piece to come out of the that shop.

Flash will still have an impact (at least in the area of mobile learning). This month's #LCBQ is the first with the Big Question Thought Leaders. It's been fun working with them and has definitely added a new spark. I'm hoping that others will join the effort.
