I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. The product is Flash based, which is nice, but lack of mobile optimization for the iPad. My runner-up is Operitel’s LearnFlex LSP. These standout to me. Categories.

Virtual classrooms and smart-boards are used in a more student-centered way (not putting all the attention to one person up-front=bad). open up exciting opportunities for people to access relevant information where and when they require it. Flash will still have an impact (at least in the area of mobile learning).

The comparison might be a dentist who decides to attempt heart surgery. At one point I ordered up a truly engaging interactive and the developer with whom I worked finally resorted to a mash up of Flash squeezed into an Articulate shell to create the most creative piece to come out of the that shop.
